Her Story
In 2025, Sahar was a third-year medical student at the Islamic University of Gaza, maintaining a GPA of 80.5%.
During the 2023 war in Gaza, Sahar lost both of her parents, her brother, and two sisters, leaving her without any surviving immediate family. Her home was completely destroyed, and she was displaced to temporary accommodation with no stable source of income.
Despite this profound loss, Sahar remained determined to continue the medical education her parents had always encouraged her to pursue.
The Impact of the Scholarship
With no source of income, outstanding tuition fees placed Sahar’s education at risk. Through the Samir Scholarship, she received tuition support that helped her remain enrolled and continue progressing toward her medical degree.
For Sahar, this support did more than cover university fees. It protected the educational journey she had fought to preserve and brought her closer to fulfilling the dream she once shared with her family.

Looking Ahead
Sahar aspires to become a surgeon and serve communities across Gaza. She especially hopes to support children who have lost their families and dreams of one day opening a clinic that provides free medical care to orphaned children.
By continuing her education, Sahar is carrying her family’s dream forward, and preparing to transform her own experience of loss into a future of healing and service.
