Discover Your Direction: Samir Foundation Conducts Workshop to Support Medical Students and Graduates in Gaza

As part of its ongoing commitment to empowering future healthcare professionals, the Samir Foundation organised the Discover Your Direction workshop for medical students and graduates in Gaza between 19–29 April, with the participation of more than 150 attendees.

The workshop was designed to help participants strengthen their readiness for scholarships, grants, and academic opportunities by improving their understanding of application requirements and equipping them with practical skills to prepare professional application documents that reflect their qualifications, ambitions, and potential.

The programme brought together a distinguished group of trainers from different countries who delivered specialised sessions across a range of key topics. Dr Ali Al-Dabouni led a session on CV writing and professional profile development, while Dr Omar Al-Najjar conducted training on preparing cover letters and recommendation letters. Dr Abdul Karim Samour delivered two sessions focused on the effective use of artificial intelligence tools in preparing academic application materials, and Dr Muath Al-Sarfandi presented guidance on identifying and searching for suitable scholarship opportunities.

Alongside the theoretical sessions, the workshop included practical training activities that enabled participants to directly apply the skills they had learned. Participants worked on developing usable application materials, including CVs, motivation letters, and professional communication documents, with particular emphasis placed on the ethical and effective use of artificial intelligence tools.

This initiative forms part of the Samir Foundation’s wider efforts to support medical students and graduates in Gaza by expanding their access to scholarships, academic programmes, and professional development opportunities. Through workshops such as Discover Your Direction, the Foundation aims to equip aspiring healthcare professionals with the confidence, skills, and resources needed to pursue their educational and career goals despite the ongoing challenges they face.
